What Is Microsoft Windows Server?

User CALs allow one user to access the server from any device. Device CALs allow one device to access the server for any user.

What Is a Remote Desktop Services (DS) License?
The Remote Desktop Services component of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 allows users to connect remotely to the server. With Remote Desktop Services, users can communicate and work with the server from anywhere there is an internet connection. DS is designed to allow maximum use on a connecting device while the burden of running programs is left on the server, allowing for complete compatibility and no security risk.
